Jaipur – Off the beaten trail in The ‘Pink’ City
India’s official ‘pink city’, there’s much more to Rajasthan’s capital than its pink-red tinged buildings and historic splendor. This majestic home to erstwhile royals is complete with old-world charm surrounded by colorful markets and chaotic streets. A part of the ‘Golden Triangle’, Jaipur is a must-visit destination along with Agra and New Delhi.
About 6 hours away from New Delhi, grand palaces and haveli is surrounded by mighty fortresses make Jaipur a welcome respite from high-rise malls and urban living. Blue pottery and more, take time off to watch a potter at work. Look out for the odd camel strolling through Jaipur’s busy streets as you make your way past hawkers and cycle rickshaws against a backdrop of its vibrant terracotta edifices. Stop over for the cultural show at Chowki Dhani before you head on to the world’s largest sundial at Jantar Mantar, Amer Fort, and the Palace of Winds, Hawa Mahal, overlooking Johari Bazaar. If you’re lucky enough to be travelling Jaipur during Holi (in March), watch spectacularly bedecked elephants in action at elephant-polo. Then again, October in Jaipur has its own share of fun with the donkey festival and ‘best-looking donkey’ award as well as donkey racing and trading.
On the other hand if you want to stay connected with god so there are some beautiful temple nearby Jaipur, we will discuss about that further.
Best places to visit in Jaipur:
The main sights of Amer Fort(also known as the Amber Fort) and City Palace are un-missable and the top sights for good reason. If you go to the City Palace it is worth paying the extra to see parts of the palace that are not open to the general public – some of the rooms are stunning. I didn’t go in to the Hawa Mahal—the view from outside was enough for me, and reports are that it gets pretty claustrophobic inside the corridors.
Visit the Anokhi Block Printing Museum, a short walk from the Amber Fort in Amber. Block Printing is a beautiful, traditional Rajasthani art that is fast dying out.
In Jaipur itself you can visit the Anokhi Stores which sells clothing made from the hand-printed fabrics, or enjoy lunch at their organic cafe. If organic eats are your thing, you can also check out the Poppin Organic Cafe.
Consider taking a tour with Virasat Experiences, a community tourism initiative.
Do avoid riding the elephants at the Amber Fort. Debates about the ethics of riding elephants aside recent government inspections have revealed inadequate housing conditions and animal abuse. Limits have apparently been put in place for the number of rides an elephant can do per day. Unfortunately, the demand for elephant rides continues to rise.
Now we'll talk about nearby temples to stay connected with god as well like Khatu Shyam Ji Temple & Salasar Balaji Temple and many more small temples also.
Sunrise @Hawa Mahal:-
Amber Fort:-
I stayed in Samskara Resort & Spa it is “Very beautiful and pleasant experience. Staffs are really nice, well behaved and very helpful. Ask for any kind of help they always give you the correct information and there to help. Feel like to be at home,
It is located in Jaipur, 10 km from Govind Dev Ji Temple, Samskara Resort & Spa offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a garden. This 5-star resort offers a 24-hour front desk and room service. The resort has family rooms.
All guest rooms come with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a kettle, a bidet, free toiletries and a desk.
A buffet breakfast is available every morning at the resort, after all food is love😍😍.
Best time to visit Jaipur:-
The best time to travel Rajasthan would be between September and April. Temperatures are cooler and tend to veer towards the colder side in December and January.
Summer, essentially from April is rather warm and temperatures actually go up as high as 45 degrees C in May and June. The monsoons last through to September and the weather can get rather humid here. But if you are a winter like me so i suggest why don't you go Jaipur in Winters.⛄⛄.
